united sorry

Someone said to me, that it was embarrassing to read sometimes this blog. Sometimes it was too private, he said. And he wondered why I do this? To be honest, I have no idea. It just happened that way in the process of looking for the right format of this blog.

First this blog was just a diary of all the things I did, but I felt it became too self-indulgent to talk about all my travels, and my work in these different theatres and dance-academies. I discovered that I could not escape to portray my life as very interesting and glamorous.
I had the feeling I promoted myself too much as a person who had a nice life, without giving space to any personal doubts, fears, unfulfilled etc.  So I decided to change my writings and to use this blog in a more relevant way. I wanted to find anwers to the  questions, which I had about my work.

The most urgent question was (and still is) how can I make theatre which has a political impact on the public. I was never an activist, but by doing my work I want to stop the rat race of this self-destructive consumers society where we are in now. But I also know, political change does not work without changing the minds of people. So I started to analyze the working of the consciousness in general, by taking myself as the main object. And this soul- searching I forced myself to do so without any censorship.

So this blog is till now about how my consciousness deals with the world. I hope this blog portrays the research of a man, who considers himself more as a dreamer, a lover, and a mystic, but still he has the desire to make theatre that activate his public to change society.
So this blog is not so much about me, but about how a (non activist) theatre-maker can make art, that activate people not to accept the world where we live in.
