In april 2010 Robert will premiere a duet wit h Maria Hasabi, a New York based choregrapher in St Marks, in New York (15,16,17 april)The duet is called “Robert and Maria”

“You dance inside my chest where no one sees you, but sometimes I do, and this sight makes our dance.” Maria Hassabi has been performing shows since childhood and Robert Steijn began dancing rituals at forty five. In this first duet, they make together, they ask themselves where outside differences meet inside similarities. Desperately they want to know when opposites become the two sides of one coin, called love.

Robert practices still his skills as performer in the work of others. He collaborated with the Belgian choraographer Anne Teresa de Keersmaeker in “Keeping Still”/part one, perhaps it will be shown again in summer 2010. He also still performs in a piece of the French choreographer Latifa Labiissi, called “Histoire par celui qui la raconte” which premiered during Festival d’automne in Paris in december 2008.

And robert will work as a drmaturge in a project that will premiere 13th of may 2010 in Kampnage/Hamburg called gimme shelter, a family of two dancers ( Frank Willens and Ulrike Bodammer) and their little childs Elijas will live/perform in a construction made by Isa Melsheimer, it is an initiative of Tanzinitiative Hamburg, irmela Kästner and Barbara Schmidt-Rohr.
